Making a LapSafe® IT Insurance claim
A claim can either be made online or a form can be sent to the insured by fax, email or post. Upon receipt of the claim, one of our experienced claims handlers will try to contact you.
If the equipment is damaged it will be picked up by courier, inspected and repaired if possible. All repairs are covered by one-year’s warranty.
If the equipment is beyond economic repair or has been stolen, a replacement of equipment on a like for like basis will be made. The make, model, serial number and value of the equipment on inception of the policy will be taken into account when a replacement is made.
We will never supply to you a lower specification model and if your machine is no longer on the market we will send you a machine of equivalent specification.

Once received, we will attempt to contact all claimants to discuss the claim asap upon receipt of the claim form at our claims office.

For theft: Your LapSafe® IT Insurance claims executive will then authorise our supplier to replace equipment to the same or similar specification up to and including the insured value. Do not arrange your own replacement, as we will not cover the cost.

For accidental damage: Your LapSafe® IT Insurance claims executive will ensure that your claim results in priority authorisation to our repairer to repair the equipment. Do not arrange your own repairs, as we will not cover the cost.

If after a claim you want to continue with your policy you will need to pay a reinstatement fee.*

*The reinstatement fee is a proportion of your premium. For example, if you make a claim in month ten of a twelve month policy with a total premium cost of £50 your reinstatement fee with be £8.33. This is derived by dividing your premium by 12 (months) and multiplying the total by the number of months left on your policy.
